Capt. Ron Bielefeld with white fish

During his early years and on through high school Capt. Ron fished for many different species all over Wisconsin and Canada. Whether he was fishing for walleyes and northern pike on the lakes of northern Wisconsin and Ontario Canada; Salmon and trout on Lake Michigan; Brown, Rainbow, and brook trout on central Wisconsin streams; or bass, bluegill, and crappie on lakes near his home Capt. Ron was never happier then when he was fishing.

For the past 10 years Capt. Ron has been applying his angling knowledge to catching the fish of the Indian River Lagoon, while also working as a professional biologist in the area. Capt. Ron's ambitions for the future are to continue to learn about and better understand the intricacies of the Lagoon, and apply this knowledge to his angling and conservation efforts - "FOR THE PROCESS OF LEARNING NEVER CEASES, NOR CEASES TO AMAZE."

Over the years his love for the outdoors became more than just away to spend his free time, it became his way of life. So much so that he went on to purse and obtain his bachelors and masters degree in wildlife ecology. While getting his education, Capt. Ron spent significant amounts of time in Northern California and Southern Louisiana where his angling adventures turned to large mouth bass, redfish, and sea trout.
